Commonwealth boss attacks Britain over Mauritius snub

Commonwealth secretary-general Don McKinnon has criticised Tony Blair and foreign secretary Jack Straw for not meeting with Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Berenger during his trip to London in early July.
Speaking at a press conference after meeting with Mr Berenger on Friday 9 July, Mr McKinnon said that the matter needed to be resolved at the highest level.
Mr McKinnon is reported to have assured Mauritius support in its legal battle to regain sovereignty of the Chagos islands.
